Feds warn Not to Use Vapor Pens
An electric cigarette is basically an electronic device which simulates smoking tobacco. It typically features an atomizer, an electrical power source such as a battery, and a cover just like a tank or cartridge. Instead of tobacco, an individual inhales actual vapor instead. As such, utilizing an e Cig is generally described as “e-juicing”.
The idea behind e-juicing is easy enough. Since an electric cigarette does not contain nicotine, it is essentially made to simulate the act of smoking by delivering small doses of Vape Pen vapor instead. Many think that this can be a far healthier alternative to smoking. Others view it as simply advantageous to the idea of being a convenience in making certain that one never has to go through the inconvenience of buying or carrying along a pack of cigarettes.
The popularity of the products has been growing steadily, as technology advances have continued to increase their functionality. In particular, vaporizing has significantly increased over the past decade. Before the advent of vaporizing devices, most e-Cigs contained nicotine. Manufacturers would then heat this nicotine into what’s called “smokeable” form. This was considered to be alright since it was believed that the body could handle the nicotine, which may in turn provide a method of helping smokers to quit the habit.
As time continued, this practice became less desirable. It was discovered that a person could become addicted to smoking should they constantly inhaled the heated nicotine. Therefore, the FDA begun to request that all vapor products be regulated to make sure that they contained minimal nicotine so as to mitigate this risk. As such, the FDA cracked down on the sale of all vapor products containing nicotine.
Regulating vapor products has caused two problems for the manufacturers. First, it forced many people to abandon the traditional cigarette and choose the a lot more convenient electronic pen. Additionally, it made it harder to profit since nicotine replacement products aren’t yet commonplace and there are still many people who usually do not want to give up cigarettes. Luckily, this new regulation has addressed both of these issues by allowing the sale of vapor products that contain nicotine.
Since the FDA began to regulate vapor products, lots of people have flocked to the marketplace in search of a quality e-Cig that will not burn. Since the FDA cracked down on smoking cessation products, manufacturers have had to create their products safer as a way to remain in the business. Many have gone to the extreme and created gadgets that resemble a real pen, but do not burn.
A few of the vapor produced by these e-Cigs are inhaled, while others go through the mouth and into the lungs. The difference is that the inhaled nicotine passes into the blood stream where it stimulates the heart and lungs. The vapors that go through the lungs are expelled as carbon dioxide. Since the most toxins inhaled through normal smoking usually do not enter the blood stream, vapes with nicotine are believed to be much safer than cigarettes since they do not increase the level of toxins in the bloodstream.
The FDA didn’t stop there however. It issued warnings to consumers stating that should you use a Vape Pen, even if it is not an electronic one, you should not use it if you currently suffer from any form of lung disease. Although this warning was issued by the FDA, it seems that there are too many users of the devices that the risk-benefits ratio is not calculated. In fact, many users report that they do not suffer from any ailments due to using these devices. Regardless, should you be thinking about utilizing a Vape Pen, be sure that you research the product thoroughly and never start using it if you have any sort of medical condition.
